Kagari of the “Dark Ninja Clan” (Annin-shū) is a descendant of ninjas who have lived caught between those in power and the common people since before the Edo period. With the establishment of the modern nation-state, the ninja—deemed “unnecessary”—adopted the name “Ninja” and a new role, operating in the shadows behind the megacity of Ogus. One day, her former partner, the ninja Imori, suddenly appeared before Kagari and asked her to take on a dangerous job. Imori, who works as a security guard at the reputable company Tris Farm Co., Ltd., plans to steal embezzled funds from Tris Farm to finance his escape! Having once had her life saved by Imori, Kagari cannot refuse his request and goes undercover at Tris Farm—but this turns out to be a scheme by the “Dark Ninja Clan,” who are out to kill her!
