Movie Information:
The era is in the throes of war. Masako (Akiko Kirishima), about to marry her fiancé Ken, was in the midst of pure happiness. But Ken is called to war. As she sees him off, Masako, chewing on the sorrow she harbors in her heart, spends one last night with him and hands him a Japanese flag inscribed with blood. Five years later. The war has ended, and Masako, having married a man a full generation older than her— Eiji, who was a full decade her senior, and was living a life of comfort and ease. One day, Ken—who had been reported as having died in battle—returns to Masako. Overcome with tears of surprise and joy, Masako, despite being married, begins an affair with Ken.
