Ayane had a whirlwind marriage with Yuji, a doctor she met on a matchmaking site. Early in her marriage, she was struggling with their increasingly distant relationship when, one day, her father-in-law collapsed. She ended up moving in with her in-laws for a while to care for him. Ayane tried to conduct herself in a manner befitting her status as a bride into a distinguished family, but a certain incident led her to discover the masochistic tendencies running through the family.
